Review of genus Centroceras Kützing, 1841 (Rhodophyta, Ceramiales) in Cuba
Keywords:
Centroceras, C. clavulatum, C. gasparrinii, C. micracanthum, CubaAbstract
In the western Atlantic are a complex of three species of Centroceras, likely to be encountered in Cuba and have been misidentified. The goal of this study is the check of records identified as C. clavulatum natural collections in Cuba, for which a morphological study of the specimenes was performed. The results show that in Cuba are: C. hyalacanthum, C. micracanthum and C. gasparrinii, the last two are new reports. It is also possible that other species are present: C.arcii, C. minutum and C. internitens, because they have been consigned to regions with similarity to Cuba in phycoflora.
