Keywords:
fertility, late fertility, second demographic transitionAbstract
Cuban fertility has remained below the replacement level since 1978. Although it presents an early pattern, in some periods there are increases in the rates of the group of thirty years and over. Based on theoretical proposals and previous studies on the variable, the work presented is aimed at characterizing the fertility dynamics of Cuban women aged 30 and over, between 2005 and 2016. It is characterized, the fertility of this group from its evolution over time, its differential behavior and the particularities in the regions of the country. The results show that late fertility increases in some of its subgroups, where the increase in first-order births in the 30-34 age group stands
out. The differential by schooling marks greater distances in the group and some provinces of the three regions of the country stand out with the highest rates in the study group.
