Abstract

For the last years, Asian integration has been a distinctive and complex phenomenon, characterized by its great energy. The recent proliferation of ageements in the region, has been the subject of discussions, mainly the Trans Pacific Association Agreement, which is considered controvertial because of its implications. The incorporation of China to the integration process, is relevant due to its increasing economic importance, and its significance for the countries in the area. The article characterizes the Asian Pacific integration, it provides an overview of its current situation, and highlights the role played
by China in its evolution and perspectives.
