Se presenta el estudio de la morfología y anatomía floral en 11 de los géneros de la familia Agavaceae, se presta especial atención a la vascularización floral y los nectarios septales.
Se demuestra las importantes diferencias de Hosta respecto a los géneros de Agavaceae y se analizan las relaciones de afinidad entre Beschornerieae, Yucceae y Agaveae.
El origen paralelo del ovario infero en Besechomerieae y Agaveae es discutido sobre la base de los resultados obtenidos y otros ya publicados por el autor.
