Amauropelta stands as the most diverse genus of Thelypteridaceae, with 233 species in four recognized subgenera. Among these, subgen. Amauropelta includes sect. Lepidoneuron, which has historically presented challenges in species delineation. Recent explorations in Colombian páramos have uncovered the need for two new combinations from the region: Amauropelta sunduei and Amauropelta atropurpurea. Additionally, these explorations have also revealed a new synonym and a new distribution record within the subgenus: Amauropelta laevigata. We present descriptions, line drawings of the first species, and macro- and microphotographs, conservation status, distribution maps, and a key for all species.
