Resumen

La política migratoria de Estados Unidos en las primeras décadas del siglo XXI se caracterizó por una combinación de medidas para reforzar la seguridad fronteriza, aumentar la aplicación de la ley y, al mismo tiempo, buscar soluciones para la regularización de ciertos grupos de inmigrantes indocumentados. Varios intentos por aprobar una Reforma Migratoria Integral no lograron avanzar en el Congreso, lo cual estuvo relacionado con las consecuencias de la polarización partidista y el populismo de derecha.
