IMPROVEMENT OF THE EQUATIONS USED IN THE PRODUCTION OF CLINKER IN CUBAN CEMENT FACILITY
Keywords:
statistical modeling, clínker, prediction equationsAbstract
Statistical modeling has been widely used in several applications articulating theoretical, methodological and computational
aspects of statistical models. This research was carried out in Cementos Cienfuegos SA (CCSA), in Cienfuegos province, Cuba,
with the purpose of get more precise calculation equations in order to predict the percentages of the clínker mineral phases
produced in kiln 3 of said industry. In this industry modified Bogue’s equations are used to calculate the percentages of the
clínker mineral phases from the main oxides in the raw material, those that overestimate or underestimate the real percentage of
the mineral phases in the clínker. Predictive equations are obtained through the Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, after an
exploratory data analysis. Was used the Statgraphics Centurion XV statistical package. The models obtained improve the
percentage of adjustment obtained previously and were statistically validated to make the predictions of the mineral phases of
the clínker with greater precision and reliability, contributing to the fulfillment of objectives 8, 9 and 11 of the 2030 Agenda and
decision making in the construction sector, one of the strategically prioritized in Cuba.
