Abstract

The job market is changing wildly, and university programs find it virtually impossible to keep up with the same speed. The goal
of the work is to analyze the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) approach in teaching, its relationship
with school performance and the impact of technological change in Universities. For this, an empirical framework is developed
by analogy to previous studies. The school performance of 32 students of the meeting course of the Faculty of Accounting and
Finance of the University of Havana is analyzed, in the subject Information Systems for the Accountant. Descriptive statistics
support the results, school performance improved when a STEM approach was applied, the implication of the STEM approach
in the development of the workforce and university teaching frameworks was evidenced.
