Abstract

This paper presents a study of the clinical criteria on the persons consulting the physicians considering, that they were affected by dengue, in the state of Guerrero, México, during 2006. The classification made by the clinic was evaluated with respect to the golden rule represented by the laboratory results. All the consulted persons with the symptoms were studied. The consensus between physicians and laboratory was evaluated by studying the collected data and computing the most popular indices of consensus. It was established that a low consensus level was present in the prediction of classical dengue while the levels for the hemorrhagic were more adequate. This study was developed in each state jurisdiction. This the first occasion in which this study is developed. It and the analysis of the data gave an overall idea of the behavior of the epidemic.
