This work of investigation analyzes the existing relation between the commercial foreign opening (exports + imports) and the growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the cases of Cuba and Spain, bearing in mind that the foreign trade policies of both countries are different. Cuba, it is not a market economy and is dependent on the exterior, and Spain, with an economy marked by the directives of the economic European space, so much in trade as in the monetary policies. We put as principal aim to evaluate empirically if the development of these countries is related to the growth of his imports and exports, for it we analyze the evolution of the macroeconomic information of last years and use the model econométrico of linear simple estimation to evaluate the above mentioned relation
