Abstract

The aim of the present paper is to analyse the performance measures of a two non-identical unit redundant system using semi- Markovian approach. The use of non-identical unit’s redundant systems is preferred in industries but due to lack of proper maintenance and repair they results in decline of productivity. Hence, to enhance the reliability and productivity, beneficial initiative must be taken. For this purpose, a reliability model of a redundant system having one original and one duplicate unit is developed with an immediate repair facility. Repairman conducts the preventive maintenance of the unit after a pre-specific time to enhance the performance and efficiency of the system. All random variables follow Weibull distribution. Mean time to system failure, availability and profit function has been derived for the considered non-identical redundant system. To highlight the importance of the study graphs are drawn for these measures.
