La trayectoria de China en la nueva división internacional del trabajo: un análisis comparado basado en indicadores del comercio internacional

Resumen

El artículo retoma críticamente la tesis de la nueva división internacional del trabajo como marco para comprender el proceso de desarrollo de China dentro de la trayectoria general de desarrollo de la región del este asiático. A partir de indicadores sobre la complejidad tecnológica de las exportaciones, se caracteriza la particularidad del caso chino contraponiendo sus tendencias principalmente con las de otros países de la región. Entre los principales resultados se destaca que el proceso de desarrollo de China no solo presenta una singularidad en cuanto a su escala, sino también en torno al tipo de
actividades que logran desarrollarse competitivamente. Particularmente, este país continúa desempeñándose como líder exportador de una numerosidad de producciones simples, pero en las últimas décadas ha afianzado su predominio en producciones de mayor complejidad tecnológica. Por último se plantean hipótesis respecto a los factores que impulsaron esta particular trayectoria del país.
